Introduction
In August 2005 Myself and my father visited the MAKS airshow near Moscow and the Russian Airforce Museum at Monino. We were in Russia for 5 days but we did not go on an organised tour with a company doing everything for us. Instead I decided to organise everything myself using mainly the internet and the phone. Neither of us are what you would call well off and a tour would have ended up costing us an extra £1000 .I did not know this when I started of course but ended up finding it out once all the bills were in at the end.
The whole thing took a lot of time researching and e-mailing people in Russia as neither of us had been there before. I do not speak Russian and neither does my father but that was not going to stop us. I was told I was brave for doing this by someone who had worked there. The reason for creating this site is to in a small way explain how "I" did it and to add to similar sites out there that helped me out when I was doing this. Other people who had been to these places and had put it into a web site which helped me organise my own trip.
